Monday afternoon

Clapo-tea party,  from 5.30pm

A late afternoon tea will welcome our students to Knit Camp.  Come and enjoy a nice cup of tea and slice of cake, have a knit and natter with other Knit Campers, meet some of the tutors (including Kate in the original) and ask us some questions in our ‘Welcome to Knit Camp’ Q&A session.  The event is free to attend to both resident and non-resident Knit Campers, but the wearing of a Clapotis is manadatory!  To join in with the first Knit Camp KAL of the most knitted pattern on Ravelry, please visit our Ravelry group.

Elizabeth Zimmermann birthday party with the tutors

Come & celebrate EZ’s 100th birthday with us!  A fabulous four course meal with your tutors awaits you (please note alcohol is not included but a cash bar will be available).  A few of our tutors will also be giving an after dinner talk about what EZ means to them and there will be lots of  EZ-inspired surprises!

Tuesday evening

A visit to the Famous Grouse Experience  (coaches start leaving campus at 5.30pm)

Whisky tasting evening: take a tour of the oldest distillery in Scotland and learn how whisky is made, learn about blends and then have a jolly old time sampling four different whiskies! There is a FANTASTIC shop too for your to buy some goodies.  This is a five star visitor attraction.

Cost:: £33

 

Knitting A & E (ER)

Not sure what an SSK is and how to do it?  Then come along to the knitting surgery.  A few tutors will be on hand to go through pretty much anything you need help with, but you are limited to a maximum of 15 minutes of their time.  Please make sure you bring either the project or pattern you are having problems with, or failing that some yarn and needles.  A notepad and pen will be handy too. Open to resident and non-resident Knit Campers.

When:  7.00pm - 8.00pm

Where: Cottrell Building

Wednesday afternoon & evening

New Lanark Mill  (coach leaving campus at 1.15pm)

Sock knitting A&E (ER)

Need some help turning your heel or how to graft that toe?  Then come along to the sock knitting surgery.  A few tutors will be on hand to go through pretty much anything you need help with, but you are limited to a maximum of 15 minutes of their time.  Please make sure you bring either the project or pattern you are having problems with, or failing that some yarn and needles.  A notepad and pen will be handy too. Open to resident and non-resident Knit Campers.

Thursday evening

A tour of the Trossachs and evening barbeque at Loch Katrine . Coaches to leave campus at 5.45pm

 

Coach tour of the Trossachs followed by a relaxing boat trip on Loch Katrine.  After the boat trip, we'll be enjoying a barbeque on the banks of the loch (veggie options available). No drinks provided, but cash bar available.

 

Travel on this special cruise to discover how the landscapes of Loch Katrine so impressed Sir Walter Scott during a family holiday in The Trossachs that he was inspired to make it the setting of his famous poem ‘Lady of the Lake’, published 200 years ago in 1810.

Spin Night

Come and spin by the side of the loch in the centre of the campus and watch the sun go down (weather permitting!)  We will be meeting with our wheels at a designated inspirational spot with a view of the loch and countryside and spinning for a few hours.  Open to both resident and non-resident Knit Campers alike.
