Dear [ ],
Can you believe that we are only just over one week away from the start of Camp?! Until yesterday, I couldn't either. The excitement/joy/nervousness of Knit Camp hit as soon as my kids went away to their granny's and I realised that it is all becoming real. Tutors start arriving tomorrow (and I'm therefore considering doing some housework!), we're packing up the Yarn Gathering shop, I've got the brochure & other bits and bobs off to the printers and now that all remains is putting lots of pieces of paper in envelopes and the such like.
It's all so wonderfully exciting, I can't quite believe it!
See you soon,
Jo
xx

Travel Tip
It's looking like it might not be the hottest weeks for us in Stirling, according to the long range weather forecast, which you can keep an eye on here: http://news.bbc.co.uk/weather/forecast/10209. It states: "
"There are signs that many places should continue the trend towards generally drier and sunnier conditions during the main part of the holiday season. Rainfall signal is for near or below average amounts, and not surprisingly it's northern areas that are most likely to see any unsettled conditions."
Of course, Stirling falls into the 'northern areas' category, so I would suggest that you bring a lightweight waterproof jacket and a lightweight sweater, cardigan or shawl for the evenings. You can expect the daytime temperatures to be around 20 degrees celsius, or about 65 degrees fahrenheit, and evening temperatures of about 12-13 degrees celsius, which I think is in the low 50s fahrenheit.

Where to register
The majority of you will be registering for your accommodation and classes on Monday 9th August, between 2.00pm - 5.30pm. You will find the Registration desk at the Andrew Stewart Hall reception. You can download a map of the campus here: http://britishyarn.org.uk/index.php/maps although there will be lots of signs pointing you in the right direction (look out for the British Yarn sheep!)
If you plan to arrive outside this time, please pick up your keys from the Andrew Stewart Hall. People coming to classes for a few days only are requested to register with us at the Knit Camp Office, in the Cottrell Building room C2B84. You can download a plan of the Cottrell Building here: http://britishyarn.org.uk/index.php/knit-camp/class-schedule-a-levels
|
The final classes timetable, showing the location of classes is available to download on our website here: http://britishyarn.org.uk/index.php/knit-camp/class-schedule-a-levels . You will also be able to download plans of where the classes are taking place, so you know exactly where you need to go on such and such a day. If you don't print this off, don't worry, as it is all in your Knit Camp brochure which we will give you when you register.

Final marketplace details
Again, all this information will be in your Knit Camp brochure but you may want to start planning now which booths you are going to hit and when!
We're very pleased to let you know that we will be operating a mailing service for our international Campers. Please enquire at the Knit Camp office about costs.
